*PARISH COUNCIL MEETING. Will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in the conference room.
*CATECHISM CLASSES FOR THE COMMUNICANDS AND CONFIRMANDS. Next catechism class for the communicands will be this Friday, December 20, in the church. After that we will take longer Christmas break due to the blessings of families. The confirmands will have their catechism class in February. Attending Sunday Mass is still part of the Third God's Commandment.
*CHRISTMAS CONFESSION DAY. It will be on this Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m. There will be two priests available: myself and Fr. Dragan Bolčić, OFM, the new pastor of Croatian parish in Montreal. There is an opportunity to have confession in Croatian or English language. After the confession, there will be mass at 7:00 p.m. None of the faithful should meet Christmas without sacramental confession unless there is a grave reason. Let's all come together and have a good spiritual preparation for Christmas. Also remember to register your sick and elderly for home visit, so priest can come, hear confession and bring Holy Communion to them before Christmas.
*DECORATING CHRISTMAS TREE IN THE CHURCH. Next Sunday after mass we will decorate the Christmas tree. I invite everyone who is able and willing to stay and help. After finishing decorating, kids and adults will have a chance to spend some time together in our church hall enjoying coffee and desserts and playing PS5, ping-pong and foosball.
*NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY. Our parish will organize New Year's Eve Party with live music, dinner and dancing. Ticket price: adults $90, students $60, children under 6 for free. Ticket price includes a dinner and a midnight buffet. Live music will be performed by our local band, T. S. Melodije. Ticket reservations: Parish office (613-722-7135) and Vinko Marinković (613-822-3321).
*POSSIBILITY OF REMOTE DONATIONS. Preparations for Christmas usually includes giving an annual family gift for the Church. Due to Canada Post strike, mailing cheques is not possible at this point. If you are not able to bring your gift in person, there is a possibility of remote donation by e-transfer to leopoldmandic@rogers.com. Thank you everybody who contributes for the needs of the Church.
